The Incredible Edible Initiative, Todmorden, UK
The town of Todmorden is now on the tourism map following the efforts of a small group of passionate community members who undertook a variety of guerilla gardening activities around public spaces in town. The efforts of this small group have transformed civic pride, local economy, and the very nature of plants in the township, with shared edible herbs, fruits and vegetables now readily available.
The George & Dragon Community Pub, Hudswell, UK
A community-led cooperative has re-established the George & Dragon pub, restoring not only the pub, but the social heart of the small township. The pub has evolved to further meet the needs of the community, as a pub, a library and a grocery store.
